Best 6 for 06 – Music Singles

Yes, 2006 has come to an end and what better way to celebrate than to have a look at the year that was in cliché style by ranking stuff in certain categories! yay!

We’ll start of with the Best Singles in 2006:

6) Save Room – John Legend – JL’s first song from his new album shows he has picked up where he left off. The album is awesome but for JL’s standards it is a bit lacking. However that’s because of the high expectation from his first album which can only be described as the best album ever.

5) Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol – Another one of those songs which is deep (and slightly emo).

4) Unfaithful – Rihanna – She can cheat on me anytime!

3) Irreplaceable – BeyoncĂ© – To the left, to the left!

2) Touch the Sky – Kanye West – This song is epic, and makes you feel like you can do anything. It probably deserves number one spot if only it wasn’t quite so overplayed.

And now for number one…

1) My Love – Justin Timberlake ft T.I. – I love everything about this song. Old school JT just the way I like it.

Honourable Mentions

Because there was so much great music in 06 I had to add this section and so in no particular order we have:

Waiting for the World to Change – John Mayer – It’s John Mayer. Enough Said.
Margarita – Sleepy Brown ft Big Boi & Pharrell – The trademark summer song, after listening to it I feel like hitting a beach and relaxing.
When You Were Young – The Killers – One of the best for the year but didn’t quite make the list. I don’t know how The Killers keep churning out these great songs!
Number One – Pharrell ft Kanye West – Not quite number one but definitely worth a mention.
Forever Young – Youth Group – A song which became popular instantly probably due to the OC and Napoleon Dynamite, but didn’t quite make the cut.
Sexy Love (Remix) – Ne-Yo ft Candace Jones – Because love songs sung by guys always sound better with a female vocal.
Opportunity – Pete Murray – Finally a song from this artist which hasn’t been overplayed and is just as good, if not better, than his previous singles.
Dani California – Red Hot Chilli Peppers – No top list is complete without a RHCP song. They are truly the masters.

Well what do you think? Got it wrong or right? Let me know below
